Pierre Jackson - Vegas Basketball Odds and Picks: Baylor Bears at Oklahoma Sooners

The Baylor Bears looked almost unbeatable when it started the season with a school-record 17-game winning streak. But losses at Kansas and at home against Missouri last week exposed some of the Bears' weaknesses, and they subsequently dropped from No. 3 to No. 7 in the latest rankings.

Baylor, sitting at 4-2 in the Big 12, Baylor is tied for third with Iowa State, two games behind the undefeated Jayhawks. The Bears will look to get back on track at Oklahoma, but it won't be easy.

The Oklahoma Sooners are 9-1 at home this season and have proven they can knock off ranked opponents, most notably in a victory over Kansas State on Jan. 14.

Justbet Sportsbook currently have the Bears listed as 5½-point favorites versus the Sooners.

Baylor Bears (17-2): In an 89-88 home loss to Missouri, the Bears' defensive woes continued. Baylor has as much length inside as any team in the country, but the guards had trouble matching up man-to-man with the Tigers' quickness outside. The Bears are giving up 71.8 points per game in conference play, which ranks only ahead of Oklahoma. Guard Pierre Jackson had 20 points and 15 assists in the latest loss, and the junior has 45 assists in his past four games.

Oklahoma Sooners (12-6): After starting conference play 0-3, the Sooners rattled off back-to-back home wins against Kansas State and Texas Tech, and then they narrowly missed a third straight victory in an overtime loss at Texas A&M. Oklahoma's big men have been playing well, which will come in handy against Baylor's deep frontcourt. Romero Osby - a 6-foot-8 junior - has topped 15 points in four straight games and Andrew Fitzgerald - another 6-8 junior - has reached double figures in 13 straight outings.

1. Jackson’s 15 assists against Missouri tied a Big 12 record for a conference game.

2. The Bears are 7-1 away from home this season.

3. Oklahoma has given up 72 or more points in five of six Big 12 games.

BASKETBALL PREDICTION: Bears 74, Sooners 71.
